Mountain View Clips Crusaders on Road

FARMERS BRANCH, Texas – Dallas College Mountain View's volleyball team beat host Dallas Christian College, 25-19, 14-25, 25-20, 25-22, Thursday.

It was the Lions' second win over the Crusaders this season. It was also their first four-set victory this year.

Tailor Perkins had nine kills and five blocks, including two solos, for Mountain View, and Briana Cordoba and Jade McCafferty combined for 27 of the Lions' 29 setting assists.

Mountain View hit .241 with 11 kills in the opening set, and had a .231 attack percentage, while committing just one hitting error in the third.

Destinee Johnson had seven kills and nine digs. Nyah Bumpas had five kills and three blocks, one of which was a solo. Kendricia Johnson had five solo blocks in a match the Lions finished with a season-high nine. Mountain View had 13 total blocks – also a season high. The Lions also had 10 aces, marking the third straight match they've been in double digits.

Skylar Daniels had 17 digs and two aces, and Ceciliana Pena 14 digs and two aces. Kahmya Rice served three aces, and Johnson two.

Mountain View (3-14) plays at Southwestern Christian College 5 p.m. Friday. The Lions host Dallas College Brookhaven on Pack it Blue night 6 p.m. Monday in the Dallas Athletic Conference opener.
